So, I came across this picture (on the left) recently of another DJ's setup for a wedding at Irondequoit Country Club...one of our favorite venues. I nearly had the water I was drinking come out of my nose. It looks like the outfield wall at Frontier Field (I blurred the company's name to protect the guilty). A wedding or other private event is never the appropriate place for a vendor to do any kind of marketing.... do not let a vendor convince you otherwise. If a vendor is talented, guests will ask for their information without this billboard sitting in the middle of your wedding. This is your event and it is about you. A picture of our DJ setup is on the right in the same venue. We are hoping that your eye is drawn to the beautiful elements of the wedding design...the uplighting, the monogram...frankly ANYTHING but the DJ table. We think a DJ should play an amazing, custom playlist of music to thrill your guests, assist a client with the planning and execution of the event...and then get the heck out of the way.
Have you seen any epic DJ setup #fail pictures? Share them on our Facebook wall...we'd love to laugh along with you!
Moral: Don't let your vendors turn your wedding into a commercial!
