John Roach, or “J.R”, as he is known around the office, is Ecstasy Sound’s General Manager and Event Planner, as well as being a heavily requested Entertainer. John began his working as a DJ, like many of his peers, while attending college at Sonoma State University in Northern California. Being a popular local “House Party” DJ led to his first forays into event planning and marketing, as he was hired by many local establishments to plan, book, and advertise entertainment. It did not take long for John to realize that event planning and musical entertainment was where his passions lay.

Unfortunately, the entertainment industry did not pay the bills for John right out of college, so although always finding time to DJ for friends and family, John found himself bound for many years to a cubicle in Corporate America. When he relocated to the Rochester Metro area several years ago, John was introduced to Ecstasy Sound, and quickly re-established himself as a popular DJ. The Ecstasy Sound ownership saw potential in John beyond his part-time DJ status and in 2006 J.R. became the General Manager of the Company. John takes great pride and satisfaction in finding solutions to any of his client’s problems, but there is still no thrill greater than conjuring a packed dance floor.
